Juan Juan Almeida is a Cuban journalist, writer, and filmmaker. He is the son of Juan Almeida Bosque, one of the founders of the Cuban Revolution. Juan Juan Almeida worked as a reporter for various media outlets in Cuba, including Radio Rebelde and the newspaper Granma. He was also the director of the magazine Alma Mater. In 2008, he was arrested and detained for several weeks for his critical reporting on the Cuban government. He eventually fled to the United States and now works for Radio Marti, the U.S.-government-funded broadcaster that targets a Cuban audience. He has also published several books about Cuba.
